Graduates will gain the advanced clinical skills that are required of a musculoskeletal physiotherapist. They will be able to critically evaluate and contribute to current research and apply the basic and applied sciences relevant to musculoskeletal physiotherapy practice. The program provides practical and theoretical instruction in examination and management approaches for musculoskeletal disorders of the spine and the extremities. Specific emphasis is placed on the development of advanced clinical reasoning and skills in manual therapy and therapeutic exercise. The program has an extensive clinical practice component where student practice under the supervision of dedicated specialist clinical educators. Graduates are eligible for membership of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Australia. The Master of Physiotherapy (Sports Physiotherapy)program will provide physiotherapists with advanced, specialised training in sports physiotherapy. Graduates will be able to manage and prevent injuries to promote optimal health and sports performance. They will be able to critically evaluate and contribute to current research and apply the basic and applied sciences relevant to sports physiotherapy practice. This program provides practical and theoretical instruction in management of and preventative approaches to sports injuries. Specific emphasis is placed on the development of sound clinical reasoning skills and the underlying scientific basis of sports physiotherapy practice. The program has an extensive clinical practice component where student practice under the supervision of dedicated specialist clinical educators.
